“I will be taking the next
two tournaments off (Guntersville and Kentucky Lake) for the WBT. I have
an incredible opportunity to fish on a regular basis with the Lake
Texoma small mouth bass record holder Jay Fuller as well as two other
Pro male fisherman (I’ll leave their names anonymous). I will also be
spending this time to promote my sponsors as well as fish in local
tournaments! Keep checking my website as I add new events and appearance
dates so that you can come by and say hello! I am very excited about
this decision and can’t wait to come back to the WBT for our last
tournament on the Red River!”

WBT getting wrapped
NASCAR-style signage on boats has become a
staple for anglers on the CITGO Bassmaster Elite Series, but those
anglers aren't the only ones getting in on the wrapped-boat act.
Mercury Marine Women's Bassmaster Tour presented by Triton Boats angler
Jen Carroll of Texas will soon compete out of a wrapped boat on the
women's tour, joining other WBT anglers who already run sponsor-wrapped
boats.
One of Carroll's sponsors,
BigFishTackle.com, presented a sponsorship plan to Boats.net, which
agreed to provide a wrapped boat for Carroll's use in the women's
events.
Though details of the boat's design are still in the works, Carroll said
it most likely will include a pink cowboy hat, which Carroll wears
during competition. She plans to pick up the new boat in time to use it
in the women's tour stop at Lake Norman, near Charlotte, N.C., on July
27-29.
"When I found out it was going to happen, I nearly fell out of my chair
I was so excited," Carroll said.
Carroll competed as a co-angler in the
first two WBT events this season. She said she wanted to compete as a
professional, but not owning a bass boat was holding her back.
"I fish out of a canoe with a 30-year-old outboard, and I can't use that
on the big water where we have the tournaments," she said.
"My husband gave me the pink cowboy hat a while back because I'm from
Texas and I do a lot of (farm work) on our farm north of Dallas,"
Carroll explained. "But I'm a girl, so the pink cowboy hat perfectly
suits what I'm all about."
Other women anglers with wrapped boats include Susan Gregory of
Mississippi, who runs a KeelShield-wrapped Triton and Sheri Glasgow of
Oklahoma, who has a Ranger wrapped in a Biosonix and Rat-L-Trap design. |
